There is always a reason to visit Copenhagen, especially if it is August. CIFF (Copenhagen International Fashion Fair) – the most significant fashion fair in Denmark was the main drive for us to get on the plane, and everything else naturally gravitated around it. The first impression of the city is of spaciousness and light, stylishly dressed slender people – nice and cheerful, small children with pink cheeks sitting in bicycle baskets, plenty of water and bicycles, delicious flavors, sparkling greenery and flowers at every step.
Since 1993, CIFF has been an endless source of discovery
and innovation in fashion. It takes place twice a year and is visionary for Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer imagery and styles. The fair gathers a community of professionals who are thrilled to conceptualize and create the fashion directions. We also met small businesses-enthusiasts with very focused collections and distinctiveness in what they do. There we saw everything, and collected impressions of the vision of Spring/Summer 2025 – free, adaptable, diverse in shapes and textures and their combinations, with a dose of boldness and show-off. The image of those transparent shoes and balloon skirt seemed to be more often on stage than anything else.
In knitwear the impressions were of simplicity of lines
and distinct expressiveness of the image – of femininity, sex appeal, freedom, play, elegance, chic, elaborated simplicity. We liked the many possibilities for contrasting combinations of fabrics, textures, colors and shapes, with diversity of images that anyone can create following their own style. What standed out were the curious shapes and cuts, flowers and jacquards, a lot of sheerness and transparency in fine viscose, play with lengths, wide sleeves short and long, glitter, tone on tone, hairy textures, fitted shapes, especially of the skirts, which definitely ruled over the trousers in the ladies’ lines. Certainly, the Italians remained our favorites – wining us with the simplicity of shapes and lines, excitingly and boldly combining with the rest of the means of expression – interesting yarns and color combinations, high-quality fabrics that last for long, details right in place, perfectly matching with accessories. Indeed, the Italians are true magicians of style!
Children's collections of clothes and toys inspired us a lot
That was another confirmation that personal style and attitude to aesthetics is nurtured in children from a very young age, and without compromise. With natural cozy fabrics and cute cheerful details to create a connection with clothes as inseparable part of us. The opportunity for children's imagination to develop in a very nature-driven way is there, and in their natural habitats – at home and outdoors.
And that natural habitat of the city always sheltered us comfortably during these few days. Wherever we were - on the street, by the sea and the canals, on the bus, for coffee or lunch.
We visited food spots in the trend, and others
absolutely by chance, they were all distinguished by a compact menu, curious and seasonal flavor combinations, and exceptionally fresh products. Places full of taste and with attentive, kind staff. We loved their philosophy ‘less is more”, which is very similar to slow and sustainable fashion, bringing more meaning and thought in its collections.

Copenhagen Contemporary (copenhagencontemporary.org ) – a space and center for contemporary art, away from the dynamics of the city. The feel was of much space, air, natural materials and colors – a harmoniously fitting home for the visiting and permanent exhibitions. We immersed ourselves into the works of visual artist Kapwani Kiwanga, and were impressed how important social topics can be presented in a very accessible and engaging way for the visitor. And they enriched our day in the most incredible and unexpected way!
And yes, we didn't visit the mermaid this time, we promise to tell you about her next time when in CPH...
